Tea Reccs (Like fic reccs but even nerdier)

Tue Jun 16, 2009, 10:25 PM
I've been working at a nice local coffee shop, and we sell some fancy tea. I'm a big fan of both coffee and tea, and while our coffee is pretty decent, I LOVE some of the varieties of tea that we have.

It's Harney and Sons tea, which is actually made near where I live, so that's cool too.

Anyway, their Caribe and Paris flavors are pretty excellent to my taste. I am drinking the Paris tea right now and it went all cold but I'm still drinking it because it's that good. Also, it smells like caramel.

In Ireland I discovered I LOVE plain old tea with two spoonfuls of cream and about eight sugar cubes. Heaven in a cup, it 'twas.

Whoo, tea! I love tea of all kinds. I really enjoy plain teas, but I'll take this opportunity to recommend a few different flavors. :D

There's a local company down here called "Local Coffee and Tea" [link] and they mix some damn good flavored teas. Pretty much everything they have is excellent, but my favorites are "Oolong Orange Blossom" (which is the best jasmine tea I've ever had), "Strawberry Smile" green tea and "Goji Green" tea are both excellent fruit flavored teas. So tasty.

There's also a lot of good stuff at Teavana [link] like "Formosa Nut Oolong" and the simple but awesome "Coconut Aloha" which is a very tasty black tea to have with breakfast. (It also has the benefit of being relatively cheap by the ounce.) It's so smooth it's crazy and it smells like heaven. Even people who don't like tea usually start sniffing around if I'm drinking it. :XD: Teavana's also a national chain, so you might be able to find one nearby.

Maaaan, this tea is so good it needs no accoutrements.

I am usually the type to go for plain teas, too, but I guess I'm slowly being converted!

That Oolong Orange Blossom sounds soooo nice!

Cool! Mmm caramel. I usually put so much sugar it tea that it'd probably kill any subtle flavours dead, though. Or honey, in which case it tastes like tea-flavoured honey. Sweet tooth, I guess.

Oh, sounds fancy. I wish there were tea places around my house.
